Two experiments, designed to mimic the structure of online dating sites, investigated how participants predicted and performed in recalling personal semantic data, contrasting truthful and deceptive contexts. In Experiment 1, a within-subjects design was implemented, involving participants responding to open-ended questions, either truthfully or by fabricating lies, followed by estimations of their recall. After that, they recounted their responses by free recall. With the same design, Experiment 2 also changed the retrieval task's format, specifically between free recall and cued recall. Participants' projected ability to remember was stronger for truthful statements than for dishonest ones, as the findings show. Although their predictions suggested a certain level of performance, the actual memory performance varied significantly. The findings demonstrate that the difficulties in fabricating a lie, as assessed by response latencies, partially mediated the association between lying and anticipated memory performance. A crucial element in disease management is the intricate balance between dietary composition, circadian rhythm, and energy hemostasis control. In this study, we sought to determine the effect of cryptochrome circadian clocks 1 polymorphism in conjunction with the energy-adjusted dietary inflammatory index (E-DII) on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein levels in women with central obesity. 220 Iranian women, exhibiting central obesity and aged between 18 and 45, were enrolled in this cross-sectional study. A semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire, comprising 147 items, was employed to evaluate dietary consumption patterns, and subsequently, the E-DII score was determined. A prospective observational study, conducted in two regional renal centers in BiH and Serbia during the COVID-19 pandemic, is reported here. In both units, we collected demographic and epidemiological data, along with the clinical course and outcomes of dialysis and transplant patients with COVID-19. Data collection, utilizing a questionnaire, occurred across two consecutive timeframes: February-June 2020, involving 767 dialysis and transplant patients in two centers, and July-December 2020, featuring 749 studied patients; both periods corresponding to major pandemic waves in our region. Both units' infection control procedures and departmental policies were documented for a thorough comparative analysis.
From February 2020 to December 2020, during an 11-month stretch, a total of 82 in-center hemodialysis, 11 peritoneal dialysis, and 25 transplant patients were diagnosed positive for COVID-19.
